The film follows Peppermint over the span of eight years and delves deep into rare transformative moments of her life, offering an intimate glimpse into her journey of triumph, resilience, and self-discovery.

sYNoPSIS
A DEEPER LOVE follows the journey of Miss Peppermint, a groundbreaking drag performer and activist who became the first out transgender woman of color to compete on the popular reality TV series RuPaul's Drag Race.
The film tells the story from 2016 when Peppermint finds herself in a world of survival gigs and scraping by to make ends meet. She auditions for RuPaul's Drag Race year after year, but the path is fraught with uncertainty as she grapples with the intersection of drag, trans identity, and medical transition.
Peppermint finds refuge in her chosen family, a group of loving and supportive trans friends, including celebrated stars Laverne Cox and MJ Rodriguez. Together, they create a sanctuary for them during holidays and life events, offering deep moments of reflection and solace in a world that often misunderstands and marginalizes them.
Peppermint finally lands a spot on Drag Race, and her dream becomes reality. Though her success on the show leads to a historic Broadway role and she becomes an outspoken advocate of the trans community, the documentary reveals the complex challenges of sustaining a career beyond the glamour of newfound fame.
A DEEPER LOVE explores an artist's evolution from a local performer to an international icon. Through intimate access to Miss Peppermint's chosen family, personal transformation, and pursuit of love, the film reveals how one performer's personal quest for acceptance and inclusion becomes a powerful movement for equality.
